is there a reason i can't retrieve a mirrorlist for yum anymore?

Yesterday I was getting the same thing, but from one newly upgraded host and
not the other!

I compared all the yum cache and config files and directories I could find
and found no differences.

On one box I had done 'yum install xemacs' which caused 6 packages to be
loaded.

On the other I had also but then had done 'yum remove xemacs' which only
removed one package,  I then removed the other two xemacs-specific packages.
>From that moment on I had the same yum problem as posted above until I
manually removed the other three packages and reinstalled xemacs.  Then yum
started working normally again!

Maybe it was a fluke, but that was the sequence of events.
