git and intel 82830m

hi all
i have a laptop hp omnibook xe3-gf which has intel 82830m graphics 
controller, i am running fedora core 4 on this laptop. the default driver 
which FC4 installed doesnt seem to work very good, i tried to install 
intel's provided drivers
the problem is that intel is providing its drivers through "git-clone" while 
i dont have git installed, and when i try to install git, it makes a long 
list of dpendencies

how can i resolve this issue???
