Running X in runlevel 3

That depends on personal configuration.  You can check this with
chkconfig (TUI) or serviceconf (GUI).  If you notice any differences,
they may not be important, or you might want to change things.  You'll
probably find a few unneeded services, in either, that you could turn
off.

That's really only going to be the only difference between telinit 5 or
doing startx in run level 3 (which services get stopped and started
between the changes, and some will restart - even if they're running in
both levels).
