X with vesa at 1680x1050 possible?

I had a similar problem when installing FC6 on my laptop with 1680x1050 screen; 
it kept wanting to default to 1400x1050 You might check to see what the default 
screen setting is with xrandr. If it is not set to 1680x1050 you might change 
the setting with "xrand --screen ...".
