Standard advice for rechargeable batteries is to use them, you get your
money's worth that way.  If you don't make use of them, it's a waste.
Likewise for artificially using them.  Some products actually do get
designed to give you good usage of their batteries (the device doesn't
over-flatten, the charger doesn't over charge, etc.).
