gthumb: can't import photos from camera (following update)

I have FC6 running on an Athalon 64, and am trying to
import photos from a Canon Powershot S500 Digital Elph.

However, when I try to bring up the "import photos" dialog,
I get:

> An error occurred in the io-library ('Bad parameters'): Could not find
> USB device (vendor 0x4a9, product 0x30b4). Make sure this device is
> connected to the computer.

Anyone else seeing this?  It broke a while ago after doing an update.
