Hi Norm!

I wish I had more time to make this easy, but alas.

Basic procedure I would follow:

0. Make a copy of your Master Boot Record and associated sector (one
with MBR only, one with MBR and its assocated secotor). For info
google "dd" and "linux master boot record". The main purpose of the
MBR is to act as a loader for grub stage 1.
1. Understand where the grub you want to load is:
http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html#Naming-convention
2. Info google "grub" and check out the "grub-install" command. You
may need to use the grub shell to actually make the cange you
want/need.
3. Apply "grub-install" or appropriate commands to update the MBR to
point to the grub you wish to load.
4. Boot and hopefully be happy. If not, at least you have a way to
re-establish your MBR.

Good Hunting!

Tod
