FC6's module-init-tools broken?

I am running FC6 with kernel 2.6.8-1.2798.fc6

Everytime I run "modprobe" to load any driver, the file modules.dep is reset.
So, everytime I need to rerun "depmod -a" to rebuild it.

Anyone knows how to solve that?
Didn't find any update for module-init-tools
