What shows up in /var/log/messages when you plug it in? How about
when you load the module? As someone else indicated, it does not
sound like this model is supported by this module. Another check, it
you know how to read it, is to look in /proc/bus/usb/devices for
your device. If you get Driver=none then the device is not supported
by any loaded module. This is usually a good indication that the
device is not supported. There are exceptions to this - devices
supported by user space programs. (REB-1100 supported by rebcom for
example.)

Here is an example of an unsupported device.
