I find it much cleaner to sort out the partitions, format and label them
before starting the install proper.
Then a custom install with no formatting is fine.
Write grub to the partition /boot or / (/dev/sdxy) and not to the
Boot using grub "somehow" using existing grub, grub on CD or USB stick.
Then sort out permanent boot configuration. The chain loader approach
is quite neat when playing with different installs.
F8 installed and running - 15mins from finishing interactive input and
the install complete. 1678 packages installed.
