It must depend on your computer.  I did a scratch install of F8 on this machine
and so far all I've had to do was to tell gmplayer to use pulseaudio --
everything else that I've done with sound so far has just worked like it always
did before.

I haven't actually done a lot with the sound stuff - what I do doesn't
involve sound very often - but I haven't noticed any problems sof ar.
