yum whatprovides not matching files

For example, I have kwrite installed, but ...

[root at home etc]# which kwrite
/usr/bin/kwrite
[root at home etc]# yum whatprovides kwrite
fedora                    100% |=========================| 2.1 kB    00:00
primary.sqlite.bz2        100% |=========================| 4.9 MB    00:06
adobe-linux-i386          100% |=========================|  951 B    00:00
primary.xml.gz            100% |=========================| 1.3 kB    00:00

updates                   100% |=========================| 2.3 kB    00:00

No Matches found

You can see that yum never bothers to download the filelists.

Is there a way to make this work as expected?
