uh, i wrote all this before, but somehow it doesn't appear in the forum. well, in short:

1. try: got the same problem about that /mnt/source.
2. try: deselected all software packages, installation started, formatted /boot and /, then couldn't read some rpm, don't remember the name.
3. try: same as before, but without formatting /boot (restored my old one, spend ten minutes before noticing i have to o "sudo grub" instead of just "grub" on the ubuntu-livecd...). after formatting / there was an error report, the next step after the formatting failed, some crap about the disk. so i fired up the text-install, and anaconda greeted me with the message that i had selected an installation method which is not supported by anaconda...

according to the text when it starts it should be anaconda 11.3.0.50 or something, i mean version 11 and then that? come on.
