That's correct.  In my (recent) experience, DOSEMU runs approximately 13x
slower on F8-x86_64 than it did with F7-i386, on exactly the same machine.

Conversely, it also shows that you CAN still run this type of software on
x86_64, at the cost of requiring your CPU to do more emulation to get  you
there. Perhaps MS is simply not interested in adding this capability to Windows.
