yum problem

But it will become a problem when you upgrade to another version of the
distribution (or change architectures).  It will become necessary to
edit this file again to have it work correctly for you then.  Whereas,
if you parameterize them now, the variables will continue to work for
you even after.  Most REPO maintainers go to great length to ensure that
this works correctly for this very reason.  And the variables are a
feature of YUM, not the repos.
