I think it's OK - the utter pomposity of it takes away the breath. 

Schiller was never quite given the historic acclaim that Shakespeare received, 
but he was every bit his equal. To take his comment out of its context, and 
append it to that little piece of doggerel was a real statement about the 
author, not about Schiller or Larsen. Tragedy turned to farce, a fitting coda 
to this whole episode.
