If the Mac is running 10.3/10.4 OSX, grab the free NX client at 
http://www.nomachine.com/download-client-macosx.php and run it against 
freenx on fedora.  Unless the reason you want to run as a thin client is 
that it won't boot anymore...  There are lots of advantages compared to 
a normal remote X session.
