I thought that meanwhile it is obvious to anyone how this works. The
glibc releases are timed to fit the Fedora schedule. There will be a
2.8 in F9. You'll likely see it before Monday.
The release doesn't come out of the blue. It will differ only a bit
from the 2.7.90 snapshots. Rawhide is a constant beta test for the next
release. And timerfd is there. Has been in rawhide for a long time.
