Problems with ifconfig in Fedora 8

As was noted, /sbin is probably not in *your* search path. On the system
where you have no issues, just use "su" and run "echo $PATH", and you'll
probably see /sbin listed, while doing the same on the system on which
you're having issues will probably not list it.
An easy way to fix this is to edit your .bash_profile, find the $PATH
line, and add /sbin to it.
Then, simply open a new shell, and you should have the /sbin directory in
your path, which will allow you to run ifconfig.
