I saw a slight size and width difference, so there looks like there's a
scaling issue, or at least horizontal versus vertical DPI difference.

I can't say that one looked particularly better than the other.  Some of
the text looked smudgier on Ubuntu, other bits looked a bit clearer, and
another quite chunky.  If anything, I'd say the Fedora one looked
slightly better, but I'm talking of tiny differences.  Overall, they're
very similar.

Though, like I said before, Ubuntu versus Fedora font rendering is a
separate issue, again, than web browser rendering.
