I know - I guess I didn't make it clear I was asking the OP if he 
had done it that way. Even creating them in the same order is not a 
guarantee. Not all systems start with the same UID, and the original 
system may have some users deleted. But there are ways around that. 
I have moved the necessary parts of /etc/passwd, /etc/group, 
/etc/shadow.
