I beg to differ.  What does running as root have to do with pulseaudio?
It should work, it works for many but not for Gene and others :(

I cannot complain because I have sound :), it works for me, but for others it does not and they need working solutions.  

I see some alsa related stuff from dmesg, but I have sound.  I wonder whey I get these, but they are there

Selinux stops some of these, as it was meant to protect users including the superuser from doing much more than was intended.

It should even work better as superuser, he shall not see permission errors, if he does, then there are obviously problems here!
