Cannot boot after the last updates

Update or upgrade?

If he's going from Fedora 8 to 9, yeah, he should be prepared to re- 
install grub.

If he's just doing a yum update on a running Fedora 9, I would hope  
that nothing in an update would muck with the boot sectors.
