pulseaudio, howto make it work?

Dunno, g. To me, its a symptom of a bad design in the first place. There are
what, at least 200 varieties of audio hardware in common use on linux, and
this doesn't begin to count the folks who dedicate a machine to running
planet ccrma on exotic edirol & etc hardware.
Overall, it seems like a miserably failed attempt to put a coat of fresh paint
on a problem that most can work out without putting another mindless piece of
code in the pot.
As an experiment, its time to end it, it has failed miserably to produce
useful results for the majority of the test runs. Of course I'm ignoring the
fact that I may be a majority of one, but the facts do seem to testify in my
favor.
