samba installed from scratch on fc9 doesn't work for me

I tried wiping all tdb files under /var/lib/samba, but when I create 
a user I get the same errors.

one thing comes to my mind: could my problems be related to selinux?
I disabled selinux putting it in permissive mode, do you think it 
could be of any help if I boot with selinux=0?
