ok. i thought that was gmail doing checking. :)

i just looked in 'preferences' and found under 'advanced - browsing -
check my spelling as i type', which i guess had slipped from mind.

i do not find where there can be any changes made in language selection,
other 'enable/disable' in 'addons', which i thought was just for display.
