Hi

I have a Fedora 8 box with gnome graphical environment. I have installed
a long time before kpdf and it worked properly, until I received some
latest updates.

Now, when I try to open a pdf file with kpdf (right click open with), I
get an error message " kpdf cannot open file .........".

I also tried to open a pdf from the pull down menu of kpdf (open file),
but in filters there is not a type of pdf file. Nevertheless, when I
clear all the file types from the filter and try to open a pdf, I
receive the same error message.

The peculiar thing is that when I change the extension of a pdf file,
e.g. paper.pdf to paper.PDF, kpdf opens the file. In addition, when I
run kpdf as root it open all pdfs.

I would appreciate very much your help on this problem.

Thanks,
John
