Don't know if it is a solution for you or not, but I had
real problems using the built-in SD slot in my monitor,
and when I tried a USB SD reader in a USB slot in the same
monitor it worked fine, so you might want to give a separate
USB reader a shot. (This is with a 2GB SD card as well).
