The package creates that user. The specfile for 1.8.0.9-1jpp.1.fc8
creates this user with uid 96. The default configuration for the GDM
login manager should not show any users with a uid less than 500.
Does the hsqldb user on your system have a uid other than 96 / greater
than 500?
