saned: permission problem with Deskjet_F300_series all-in-one

As I indicated previously, I have always been able to use the scanner,
and so have other users logged into the box.  The problem is getting
saned to to work.

I got saned working by putting it in a wrapper that enables debugging,
and called it from /etc/inittab rather than xinetd.  Now my son can
use the scanner from his machine.  I would rather have gotten it
working under xinetd, and might have another go at that some time in
the future.  Still keen to hear of any ideas about what may be
the problem.
