I use a Sansa Clip 2GB too, and I'm very happy with it!

FYI, in case you didn't notice, there are interesting threads in some
forums (links below) about playlists and sound volume:

http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board?board.id=clip
http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=119
(I posted there as 'kukrapok')

I personally use fapg to create m3u playlists, and a custom script to
generate playlists recursively.

To me the sound volume is way too loud, and its minimum even starts too
loud: listening at min volume settings, even w/ custom EQ set to
minimum values, is a bit too loud for night/bed ambiance.

Of course this also depends on the headset you use, but w/ my 3 sets
volume is generally too loud.

What I also know is that people who want to play at higher volumes,
have to upgrade the firmware and enable the volume "high" profile in
the prefs (this adds 8 more volume levels). Firmware version and
location might cause different volume limitations too (and sometimes
it's easy to trick it).

Regards,
