I'm sceptical about /etc/modprobe.conf; "alias etho fred" says that when
I "ifconfig eth0: there's an automatic modprobe for fred.
fred will load and grab any NIC it can drive, and I expect that all the
NICs on the mobo are driven by the same driver.
