it would depend upon the specific card; ExpressCard is just PCI Express with a 
different connector.

It does work on my Dell Inspiron 640m and an ExpressCard eSATA adapter 
(SiI3132 chip).

It probably would not work for the new ExpressCard soundcard from Creative, as 
I don't think ALSA support for the X-Fi is working (at least not the last 
time I checked).
