Oh I've seen them, I might even still have a couple.

I've seen others, like you have, with some bits of metal tacked in
places over some of the plastic.  I think they'd provide poor shielding
in adverse conditions.  You really want a complete metal box with the
minimal of holes in it.

I'd say so, too, on both counts.  Particularly when you consider the
frequencies involved.  Regulations and good design practice doesn't seem
to stop some people, though.
