Specifying a static I.P. address for a Fedora 8 box - having issues

Nothing is wrong.  But the DHCP automatically setup the DNS entry 
automatically.  If you setup a static IP, you will have to add the DNS 
entry as well.

ping 64.233.169.99

will work without the DNS entry.
