Network Manager issue in F9

I have 2 laptops running F9.  Both run NetworkManager.  On one, a Dell
Inspiron 8600, when I run nm-tool I get the following output (for brevity
I'm only showing the wired info since that's where the issue is):

Note that it says the status is connected.  On the other laptop, a Dell
Precision Mobile M65, I get the following output

Note that it says the state is disconnected despite the fact that I'm logged
into the system remotely.  Also note that the MAC address associated with
the wired interface is all 0's.  What's going on here?  Anybody else see
this problem?  An lspci of the M65 shows:

The annoying aspect of this is that every time I start Firefox 3 it comes up
in offline mode.  I've had to go back to Firefox 2 to get around this
annoyance.
