Yea, I tried some more experiments, and I think my original confusion
was caused by a video DVD I put in that only shows up as TYPE="utf"
with no label info or anything. Removing that seems to leave blkid
with no info about the drive. If I put in a more ordinary iso99966960
(or whatever the number is :-), it acts just like it formerly did,
so I guess I just caught it at a bad time, and that is what led to
my confusion.
