KDE backgrounds and quick launcher

Yes, I am running the latest. I just did a yum update and rebooted
(just in case). I have the same issue. Also KDE used to be able to
set the background for each work space (desktop) separately, I don't
see that option any more. That option and many more is why I prefer
KDE over Gnome.
No quick launcher ... guess I will have to modify the mouse to have a
pull down from the left most button so I can sort of have one ;)
