Fedora 9 install problem

Sam: I know your work, and I've used courier on email servers in the
past, yes I Googled first, but my search terms were off, I was
searching for mobo specific stuff rather than video card specific
stuff.

passing any vga mode I want works fine, I in fact had tried that to
see where exactly my problem was.

nope, system-config-display locks up the box.  a little bit of
research suggests that there are a number of updated packages since 9
was released, perhaps I wait till after I get those downloaded and
installed before I try system-config-display again.
