Keyboard delay problem

Hi

I have a Fedora 8 installation - everything works well.

On my main account I have suddenly a problem - to write on the
keyboard is very slow - I have to push every button a long time until
the character is accepted.

At the logon screen everything works normal - and if I log in with
"root" there are no such problems as well.

Any ideas?
