Installing Fedora from a hardrive help.

I'm pretty sure grub needs a Linux system (or something like it)
to install and run.

Why don't you just burn a Fedora DVD, and run that?
If it doesn't work you could try something more exotic.

Or get the KDE Live CD, and run that.
You can then install it if you wish.
