Sure.  But if the way you find out more about how your system works is
by badgering a helpful maintainer (I refer to John Linville), then
perhaps you should consider other methods.  (Read some source code,
run your own tests, etc.  There's no call for hijacking this thread to
demand answers to satiate your curiosity.)
