Ldap, Pam, Nss, Samba

Yes, OpenLDAP is all you need but it's hard to learn LDAP and samba
integration all in one whack. Once you understand LDAP, samba
integration is simple.

nss / padl / pam only comes into play if you intend to use LDAP for
authentication.
