Norco DS-1220 on Fedora 8

I am considering purchasing a Norco DS-1220 sata storage system.

Does anyone have any experience with this unit?  The reviews are 
somewhat mixed, especially in terms of Linux support for the Silicon 
Image chip set used in this device.

It would be good to hear if anyone has managed to get one of these units 
running under Fedora 8.
