upgrade from fedora core 6 to 9

First of all I would like to thanks everyone for all the answers I got.
I would like to apologize for "hijacking threads", I'll try to send mail 
properly.

So I'm a little bit paranoid and have a lot of data on my HD collected 
from years ago and their lost would be a big problem for me. Now I'll 
try to upgrade from scratch and keep my data stored on an other disk. 
But I'll upgrade only system partition and keep /home. So if everything 
goes well, my /home backup will be useless and I'll enjoy using FC9 :)
