F8 and qtconfig

I am running F8 x86_64 on a T60p. I installed skype and the default font 
size is 10. So I went into /usr/lib/qt4/bin and executed qtconfig. I 
changed the font size to 7 and saved. However, the save does not work. 
The font size remains at 10. I have done this numerous times before all 
without any problems. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might 
be going on?
