Fedora 9 + CIFS issue

I will confirm this problem. When running the mount command on my machine with the verbose parameter, the password always broke into a new line and then continued the mounted details:

mount.cifs kernel mount options unc=//serverroot,ip=hidden,user=drew,pass=hidden
,ver=1,rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,noauto,credentials=/root/login,uid=500,gid=500

Having never before ran the mount command with the verbose option, I figured this was normal, however after editing my credentials file with a hex editor as suggested to remove the trailing n, the command turned to this and mounted properly:

mount.cifs kernel mount options unc=//serverroot,ip=hidden,user=drew,pass=hidden,ver=1,rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,noauto,credentials=/root/login,uid=500,gid=500

This is run both as root and a normal user. With the first command, both showed the Permission Denied error, and with the second command, both succeeded.
