some codecs

You could try vlc for mms streams and RealPlayer 11 ,
http://www.real.com/linux ,
for realmedia video.
Here , http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/ , are the
codecs for mplayer.  Unpack them in /usr/lib/codecs .

Remove the flip-hebrew option from /etc/mplayer.conf .

I had the same problem.
