i'm not sure i see what the issue is???
if you're trying to get a remote gui/desktop on an fc9 system, wouldn't vnc
still work?

I assume the latter. I have been doing console login a LOT since FC9, so
I can system-config-damndisplay over and over, trying to get useful X.
