CUPS / printing setup in FC9 horribly slow

Hello,

I have been trying for around 30 minutes to get printing setup with CUPS
over a network.  It seems most of the screens I have seen are waiting
for something (DNS lookup?) before making it to the next stage.  

Any pointers on how to fix this?  It seems the printer configuration GUI
found the proper buffer URL fairly quickly.  It also found a system name
that will not resolve.  Is that the problem?
